Takeaway Tweets & Transcript: Growing College Entrepreneurs #CampusChat

A big THANK YOU to Jennifer Edwards (@GenYJen), community manager for The Young Entrepreneur Council, for being our guest on #CampusChat last night (Wednesday, May 16, 2012).

College_EntrepreneurshipThe YEC is an invitation-only nonprofit membership organization designed to promote entrepreneurship among college students. Our discussion was lively and timely, especially considering that employment rate for recent college graduates is 1 in 2 are jobless or underemployed.

So what did we discuss during #CampusChat: the growing trend on college campuses to offer and support student entrepreneurship whether it be through college majors, programs, clubs and student-run organizations or through the help of businesses such as the YEC.  Several participants are walking the talk and are pushing forth their startup business ideas or are even supporting themselves through entrepreneurship.

If you didn't make to our chat last night, you can read the full #CampusChat transcript. Feel free to use our comment box to share your thoughts about college entrepreneurship.

#CampusChat is on Wednedays at 9PM, Eastern.
