Scholarship Mom Tip #61: Name Dropping Helps

name dropping

Name dropping helps!

Businesses and organizations offering college scholarship money to students are just like you and me, they like and are proud of who they are so do some name dropping!

Mentioning the name of the scholarship provider in the essay is a great way to impress the judges. Take it a step further and bring a little background knowledge about the company or organization and tie it into the essay subject to make an even better impression.

Always double-check spelling of each scholarship provider and make sure it is the right one, especially if using essays for more than one scholarship application. Just like dressing to impress for a scholarship interview, polishing each essay until it shines is the best way to become memorable and one step closer to winning scholarship money for college.
