Frugal Student Tip #9 – Ask For Student Discounts

Your student ID card can be the key to student discounts. You already may be carrying the best discount card of all — your student ID card.

Keep in mind this only works if you have your ID on you. If you want to get student discounts, carry your student ID card at all times.

There are many businesses that have a published student discount policy, like the ones on this Ultimate List of College Student Discounts from Clarks Condensed. Discounts are available on everything from clothing to restaurants to movie tickets.

Note: You don’t have to see a sign or know of an official policy to get student discounts.

If you don’t see any mention of a discount, ASK. Just asking if they offer student discounts won’t cost a thing, and it may save you some money.
