There is a wealth of information online regarding the subject. One way to pare it down to a manageable amount is to investigate options just at the colleges under consideration. Head to your college visits with some questions about their off-campus study program(s).  Different types of programs offered and cost concerns are a good place to start.

Be sure to factor in travel costs and time for getting a passport.

Don’t let the idea of cost deter you. Many colleges offer a semester abroad at their own campuses for no difference in tuition and fees, and some can even provide grants for travel costs. This is definitely worth asking about!
