Scholarship Mom Tip #125: Pin for Scholarships

Grad On Top Of The World With Laptop Pin for ScholarshipsIn last week’s tip,  I shared how Pinterest can be used to search for and find college scholarships.

How you can Pin for Scholarships

This week, I’m going to share how using Pinterest can be a wonderful way for students to showcase their talents and highlight their community service projects (which impresses college admissions officers and scholarship judges).

As with any social media outlet, students need to keep their social media presence clean and what better way than to create Pinterest boards sharing proud moments and volunteer projects?

For example, if a student volunteers at the Red Cross and aspires to become a nurse, boards can be created and pictures pinned with Red Cross symbols, sayings, and real photos of the student volunteering at a local Red Cross center.

A “Future Me” board can be a place to pin photos of inspiring nurses and other medical professionals. Another board could be created for specific colleges that the student is hoping to attend that offer quality nursing programs.

The link to the student’s positive and impressive Pinterest account can be then be shared on scholarship applications. Using Pinterest to pin for scholarships to help win college scholarships is Pintastic!
