This Week’s #CampusChat: A Back-to-School Panel of Experts


This week on #CampusChat we are gathering experts in all areas of college prep for a Back-to-School panel discussion. Here’s the line up:

Jodi Okun (@JodiOkun)

Jodi Okun is the founder of College Financial Aid Advisors. Her experience includes working in the financial aid office at Occidental College and Pitzer College. For over 10 years, Jodi has worked in the financial aid industry helping thousands of families. She is the brand ambassador for Discover Student Loans and together they believe in the value of a college education. Chad Dorman (@CLDorman84)

Chad Dorman is the Founder of Leonard Andrew Consulting. In developing student and student-athletes, Chad’s team blends academics and athletics to find the best school, and the best team, for players to showcase their abilities. LAC develops an individualized action plan for each student and proactively helps players through the steps of the recruiting process – guiding them to an understanding of the NCAA’s rules and regulations, reviewing the various scholarship opportunities that are available, as well as putting them in contact with a vast network of coaches and programs.

Lisa Noble (@NobleCareerGuru)

Lisa Noble is the founder of Career Connectors LLC. Over the past 20 years as a consumer insights and strategy leader for Fortune 500 companies, Lisa has helped clients, colleagues, recent grads and student interns build successful careers by helping them discover and chart their career paths, fine tune their job search strategies, connect with the right people and present their best selves to future employers. She launched Career Connectors in 2014 so she could devote more time to her lifelong habit of helping others see their own value and get the opportunities they deserve.

Ashley Hill (@CollegePrepReady)

Ashley is a Scholarship Search Strategist and the CEO of College Prep Ready. She loves helping families lower college costs with scholarships and is working on a new scholarship book for families. She has helped many first generation students achieve their dreams of college.

Ethan Sawyer (@CollegeEssayGuy)

For ten years, Ethan Sawyer has been helping students demystify the process of writing the personal statement. He graduated from Northwestern University, received an MFA from UC Irvine, and earned two counseling certifications. He’s a Myers-Briggs specialist and his ENFJ type suggests that the heart of his work is about helping students realize their potential.

Akil is a test prep and college access expert with more than 25 years experience helping people prepare for admissions tests. He has helped thousands of students prepare for the SAT, ACT, and other exams.

Monica Matthews (@AidScholarship)

Monica is the author of “How to Win College Scholarships.” She helped her own son win over $100,000 in college scholarships and now shares her expertise with other parents and their students. She truly has “been there, done that” in regards to helping parents and students navigate the scholarship process.  Her method of helping students in finding college scholarships, writing unique and compelling scholarship essays, creating amazing scholarship application packets and more, have taught desperate parents to help their own students win thousands of scholarship dollars.  Her scholarship tips have been featured on several websites and she has been dubbed the “Go To” expert on college scholarships. Kelly Queijo (@zkellyq)

Kelly Queijo is the founder of SmartCollegeVisit (@collegevisit)-the educated way to visit campus and #CampusChat. Her Smart College Visit blog ( offers tips on travel, visits, and applying to college. You can also find travel logistics to US colleges along with information on the colleges themselves. Kelly is committed to helping families choose a college by utilizing the college visit tools and information from Smart College Visit.
