Scholarship Mom Tip #185: Three Great Scholarship Search Sites

scholarship search sites

A question that I get asked frequently is, “What is the best online site to find scholarships?” There are the big well-known sites like and, but here are some other scholarship search sites that share fantastic up-to-date scholarship opportunities that many have not heard about. Save these and check them often!

JLVCOLLEGECOUNSELING.COM  – Independent college counselor Jessica Velasco has amazing scholarship resources on her site and adds new scholarships frequently. Find them by deadline date, age/grade level, college major, minority status, athletic ability, and international opportunities.

STUDENTSCHOLARSHIPSEARCH.COM  – This site uses only five pieces of information about the student before it cranks out lots of scholarship opportunities: gender, grade, ethnic background, state, and GPA.

COLLEGEBOARD.ORG  – Students will find much more than scholarships at this site and bookmarking and checking it often is a smart action. The scholarships search criteria is slightly more detailed, but you will find less advertising and spam associated with this site.

Are you building your scholarship list? What is your favorite scholarship resource?
