Scholarship Mom Tip #190: Watch for Extended Application Deadlines

extended application deadlines

This week’s scholarship tip is exciting and time sensitive!

In your search to find scholarships, have you ever come across an organization that has extended its application deadline? I have seen this several times, especially on social media sites where a company is sharing its scholarship information.

What does it mean when an organization has extended application deadlines?

It means that they don’t have very many applicants (or none, who knows?) for their scholarship and are basically desperate for more.

What does this mean for students?

It means there is WAY less competition for this scholarship and they should apply ASAP if they meet all the qualifications. Think about it, why would a scholarship judge want to read hundreds, and possibly thousands, more scholarship applications and essays? They don’t. They just NEED more applicants.

Don’t let any scholarship opportunities with extended application deadlines pass you or your student by!
