SmartCollegeVisit is the educated way to plan your campus visit. Millions of high school students, even many middle school students, and their families journey to college campuses nationwide in search of the best fit for their college career.
After years of working in or with college admissions offices, and being parents of teens and tweens, we know it can be challenging to get all the information you need in one place. We hope to correct that and make that college visit planning process easier for everyone.
What you will find here:
- Tips on getting the most out of a college visit.
- Travel planning tools and advice from those who have gone before you!
- Parent-to-Parent forum where moms and dads can share their college travel experiences.
- Smart See, Smart Do highlighting what should not be missed when you visit campus.
- Visit profiles of colleges.
- And much more as we grow and learn together.
Message from the founder:
After 16 years of working with college admissions offices, I've been told time and time again how important the college visit experience is to the schools and to the families who visit. As a parent, I know that helping a child navigate the college selection process is one of those "final frontiers" we all face. It's definitely a journey and, for many families, it's trip that requires planning, information, and forethought. College web sites generally do a good job of providing information about how and when to visit, but I want to do more than that. The goal of this site is to provide resources to help families plan their trips and to create a dialog among families as we share in the experience of preparing to send our children off to college.
As a new web site and a new business, I am looking forward to how this blog will grow and change to meet your needs. I want to hear from you (parents and colleges) about what you like, and what else you'd like to see added to the site. Please use the comment feature on every post to add to the discussion, or email me at info@smartcollegevisit.com.
Thank you for being here,Z. Kelly Queijo
