Hunter Berk’s Good Idea College Prep for All

When I saw Nancy Berk's tweet:  @nancyberk: Caution: Proud/obnoxious mother. College bound son in Family Circle.http://bit.ly/HunterBerkCBC I just had to click on the link. Why was her son in Family Circle magazine? Why was being college-bound news? There over 3 million high school seniors who may be college hopefuls. Turns out, Hunter Berk came up with an idea to lend a leg up to other high schoolers who would like to be college-bound but may be limited by access to the right resources. Here's Hunter's story:  Good Works: College Bound Collection Sure, college is expensive. But test prep materials are, too. So Hunter Berk, 18, started a nonprofit to distribute testing books and flashcards to future classes of higher-education hopefuls. By Krista Meyerhoff Hunter Berk sits in his basement knee-deep in college prep books—essay writing guides, AP flashcards, SAT prep manuals, and college directories. He sorts them based on their condition (some have been written in but most have not) and packs everything up in his car to drop off at Fox Chapel Area Senior High School.
