Smart College Visit Adds Video Channel

Like what you read? Now you can like what you watch! SmartCollegeVisit now has a YouTube Channel! If you subscribe to SmartCollegeVisit or visit the site regularly, then you've likely read the college showcase series Smart See, Smart Do™ or our newly released Smart Learning™ series. Both were created to give college-bound students and their families additional insight into the programs and places on campus that may just tip the scale when evaluating colleges on a campus tour. We're inviting the 40+ schools we've already written about to send us videos that supplement this information so we can offer our followers a content-rich experience.  The videos appear in categories that correspond to our blog categories. In YouTube, they're called Playlists. So far, our PlayLists include: CampusChat, Smart See, Smart Do, and Smart Learning. We'll add more as we continue to create content that will help you on your journey to selecting the college that offers the best fit for your future.  If you have ideas about what else we should offer or know of unique learning opportunities at colleges and universities, please contact us. Feel free to comment below, post a statement on our Facebook Wall, or contact us via Twitter. We welcome suggestions that help us help you plan your college tour. ...

US Air Force Academy makes Forbes List of Beautiful Campuses

When I added the final touches to our post: Smart See, Smart Do: The United States Air Force Academy, I was captivated by the stunning photos that had been sent for inclusion in the post. Turns out, I'm not the only one. Earlier this year, in March 2010, the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, made the Forbes List of The World's Most Beautiful College Campuses (opens slide show). For the article text, click here.     As often is the way when someone makes a list, there will be those who disagree. So, what you do you think? Is there a college you've seen on your campus tour that you think should have made the list? What makes a college campus the most beautiful?  Share your thoughts with us using the comment form below or on our the SmartCollegeVisit Facebook page. If you like this post, please click the Facebook Like button to let us know! Many thanks and happy...

Smart Learning™ Series Launches to aid Students on College Campus Tours

Smart College Visit announces Smart Learning™ series.   On September 3, 2010, we published the first article in our new Smart Learning series featuring unique learning opportunities at U.S. colleges and universities. The goal of this series is to provide high school students who are searching for colleges and planning campus tours with a closer look at the rich and varied pathways to learning offered by each school.  Just as our Smart See, Smart Do™ series focuses on the things you should not miss seeing or doing while visiting campus, the Smart Learning series seeks to enhance your knowledge of a school prior to visiting.  Smart Learning at Millikin University – Where Entrepreneurs Begin, the first article in this series, showcases the numerous opportunities available to all students through Millikin's Center for Entrepreneurship.  Brochures and web sites contain a wealth of information, but can only do so much in promoting all the wonderful things a college or university has to offer. We hope that the information offered in the Smart Learning series will, at the very least: stimulate ideas for questions to ask during information sessions, help determine which departments to schedule appointments with prior to visiting, and provide a more in-depth view of how you, as a college student, can broaden your experiences.  Smart Learning is scheduled for publication weekly. To see what's published, click on the Smart Learning link under Top Topics. If you like what you read please comment, share, or like using any of the social sharing contacts links available at the bottom of each post.  If you have suggestions for other topics relevant to your college search or planning college visits, please: send an email, follow us on Twitter @CollegeVisit or join our fans on Facebook. We want to hear from you! Schools interested in sharing their unique learning opportunities with us are invited to contact us via email.  We're pretty excited about this series and hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as we're enjoying researching and writing it! Stay tuned, there's much more to learn and...
